Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG notebook

The last time we checked a calendar Acer Aspire - 14 inches 4810T, which have been tested in mid-2009 - We are impressed. This time we got our hands on the new Acer Aspire 5820TG TimelineX, the laptop is equipped with a 15.6in screen. We believe that Acer has another winner on their hands: the 5820TG has an excellent keyboard, one with decent Core i5 and dual video cards. It offers almost everything you do not want a laptop for business users, it may even offer decent performance in games. Even business users should be happy if they need an Express Card slot or advanced security features.

The Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG is large enough for a laptop desktop replacement, and there is enough space on the basis of a full size keyboard - including a numeric keypad - and a large palm rest and good 9x6cm touchpad.

The notebook weighs 2.4 kg, so you'll see in any case; bear the additional weight if you are in your pocket. But given the mobile screen size, weight is actually very reasonable, it compares favorably to the 15-inch Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 (2.6 kg), the Sony VAIO PCV-EB16FG 15.5in (2, 7 kg) and 15.6in ProBook HP 6540b (WH431PA) (2.6 kg). Acer announces the stylish design of the laptop as a point of sale, and it is certainly a slim and attractive design. We believe it is worth considering if you want a laptop desktop replacement and a laptop you the opportunity to take on the road, perhaps between home and classes, by example. Despite its size, it is actually very easy to use on your lap.

The battery lasts about three hours in our battery test with the use of Intel graphics with the ATI lasted 2hr 32min. These two results are excellent for a laptop of this size, as a comparison of the Dell Inspiron 15R 2h 20min lasted only during the same test. The difference between the results of the Aspire 5820TG TimelineX when using Intel graphics and using an ATI graphics card may not seem like much, but our test is designed to work the battery as soon as possible. We run the test by disabling power management, turning the screen brightness and Wi-Fi and then a video file loop Xvid. Acer Aspire TimelineX: Game Performance

The Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG is a compromise between ease of use and portability, which does not suit everyone - not exactly a notebook or netbook ultra portable. If you buy a laptop for a student sample just go from home to college, we think it would be a good choice. It is so easy to use as complete desktop replacements, such as the Dell Vostro 3700 17.3in - you will not find in trying to write the long-term assignments. If you're in a decent sized bag, not the basket too many textbooks, we also believe in a position to use it in a lecture to take notes (or browse your favorite web sites) without problems.
